How long does it take to re-roof a house?

Most roofs are completed in 1 to 2 days depending on the size and pitch.

Not only will we protect your landscaping, we will also tarp the decked area in your attic.

Do you hand-nail shingles? and why is it important?

Yes we only hand-nail. With hand-nailing you are assured correct nail penetration with every nail. A nail gun or staple gun often leaves nails or staples sticking up or imbedded into the shingle damaging it and nullifying the warranty.

How important is ventilation?

Correct ventilation could be the difference between having a roof that is warranteed and one that is not. Whether it be a ridge vent, power or wind turbines, proper ventilation is very important to the life of your roof.

What do you do if it rains during the job?

Backwoods Roofing, Inc. will not start a roof if rain or storms are forecasted at 40% or greater during the time it takes to complete a certain job. In the event that it did rain during construction, large tarps are available to protect your home. We have never had a home damaged by water during a job. This is one less worry the homeowner should have.

Will my insurance premiums decrease if I replace my wood shakes with composition shingles?

In most cases insurance companies will offer discounts if you replace wood shakes or shingles with a composition roof. Larger discounts are offered when a class 4(impact resistant)shingle is used.
